The Problem
Mainstream publishing systems weren’t built with Indigenous languages in mind—especially languages with limited digital support, non-Latin scripts, or oral-first traditions. When tools don’t support a language, access shrinks, preservation becomes harder, and communities are forced to adapt their knowledge to outside systems.
What eGHOTA Is
eGHOTA is an initiative of Afromanjaro focused on building practical publishing infrastructure for language communities and creators. Our work supports culturally rooted publishing—so stories, knowledge, and education can be created and shared in the languages they belong to, without compromise.
